First of all before starting the preparation on any exam we must have to know about the exam pattern & syllabus of that exam. But this time here is a little confusion between the marks distribution between the section. But that not a major issue because we know all four sections:

Current Affairs Preparation tips for Railway exam:

This one is the new section to the railway exam, this time you also have to study the current affairs. In the current affairs, you can cover the important news from last 6-7 months. Here important news means deals & new govt schemes, visits By PM and other country’s political person to India (their capital, currency, PM, President etc), places that came in the news for summits, games, awards, Books etc.  You can get all these things from the current affairs magazines or newspapers. General Knowledge is very vast but for railway exam you can study or learn History – India & World, General Science, Indian Economy, Indian Geography, Indian Constitution, Indian Culture & Heritage, Indian Polity, Science & Technology etc.

Numerical Ability Preparation Tips for Railway exam:

Now come to the another section and that is numerical ability. In which you have to prepare for the mathematics upto class 10th. Maximum chapters will be from the class 10th course. For that you can use books upto class 10th or you can use aptitude or numerical ability books to prepare your numerical ability.

But this thing will be done by all candidates and how can you be different? So you have to become faster and for that you must have to learn some important calculations like square &cube upto 20 or 25, Tables 20 to 25 or if you are also preparing for IBPS Bank exams then you can learn them upto 30. Learn all formula of these topics and study at least 1 topic daily as you have only 2 to 3 months.

General Intelligence and Reasoning Preparation Tips for Railway exam:

You can take reasoning books to prepare for the General Intelligence and Reasoning section. The levels of reasoning will not much high so it is our advice to you to prepare for the basic or easy questions. But to understand the reasoning you must have to do practice more and more. Because some time candidate may stuck at a question in the examination and that will become the reason of time loss. So to prevent that situation you must have to do more practice for reasoning also.
